Considered an Earth sign, the Taurus prides themselves on being grounded individuals, only approaching topics with realism and practicality. As the bull grazes a pasture, slowly moving across the picturesque scenes of nature, the Taurus relishes in luxury, serendipity and comfort.

The Positives
Each zodiac sign possesses radiant qualities, making them unique. These positives magnify others to the specific person. So, dear Taurus, if you notice some aspects of yourself that benefit you, take charge of them. You never know what opportunities they will bring!
Now, presenting the top five positive qualities of the Taurus zodiac sign.
1. Big Brain Energy, Activate
A Taurus prides themself on their intelligence. While their intellect pertains explicitly to their money-making skills, the emotional intelligence of a Taurus reigns superior to that of the other signs. During high-intensity situations, the Taurus can tap into their emotional intelligence to create a calm environment. Don’t try to outsmart them; you can’t. The Taurus uses their mindfulness to perform a full read of the people they encounter. Trust won’t get distributed wistfully. After careful vetting, the Taurus will welcome you with open arms into their circle of trust. Scorpios, beware. The Taurus knows your game (and they’re watching you).
2. Working Hard, never Hardly Working
Looking for the perfect partner for a group project, team building exercise or events coordinator? A Taurus will get the job done right. Any horoscope will tell you that the Taurus’ cooperate the best out of all the signs. Their perseverance to succeed draws them to commit themselves to any assignment or task fully.
“I would consider myself an extremely hard-working person, whether it be school related, in my relationships, and for my passions and dreams,” New York Law student Nicole Knorr said. “Taurus’s are strong-willed people who sometimes can’t take ‘no’ for an answer and I see that in myself, especially when I am working towards specific goals or getting things that I want. Typically, if I can’t get something right on the first try, I try again and again until I succeed.”
The ambitious Taurus prioritizes their wants. Once they set their eyes on the prize, they will stop at nothing to get what they want (especially in the workplace). After selecting specific goals, they tend to go to extraordinary lengths to benefit everyone in the long haul. The Taurus may seem bossy, but you should expect patience, diligence, and focus with them on your team. The Taurus- the epitome of professionalism.
3. Clear, Concise, Consistent
When a Taurus begins a routine, they plan on sticking to it. Consistency exists in their social and personal lives, functioning thoroughly without disruption. Sameness equates to comfort. Stability allows for the Taurus to work efficiently.
“In my life, consistency is about predictability,” Boston College junior Victoria Basic said. “I always like knowing exactly what’s going on and I would rather leave little room for drastic changes. Although I like routine in my life and follow a very similar schedule every day, I’m awful with last-minute plans. The most consistent elements in my life are my family, friends and my diet. To get to a place of consistency, I make sure that I am prepared for everything and every scenario. I always like to be one step ahead.”
When you meet a Taurus who religiously sticks to routines, don’t try to cramp their style. It will upset them, possibly affecting how they trust you. Instead, work with the Taurus to help maximize their routine; it will significantly benefit the team or the relationship!
4. Honesty—the Best Policy
Don’t take your Taurus friends’ bluntness for rudeness; that’s not the case. To the Taurus, the key to a functioning relationship rests in complete transparency. Translation- if you need a friend to tell you whether or not to wear that outfit to the party, call a Taurus. They’ll tell you the honest truth. Remember, any Taurus’s emotional intelligence functions high, so if you falter in honesty, they’ll know about it. Sometimes we all need brutal honesty to check our inescapable egos; time for the Taurus to shine.
5. The Hopeless Romantic
Dating a Taurus means partnering with the epitome of genuine romance. Something about you sets you apart from the rest; that’s why the Taurus chose to date you. The Taurus’ need for consistency leads them to choose their partners wisely. They shower their partners with affection, passion and loyalty.
“My boyfriend is a Taurus and definitely displays romantic qualities,” St. John’s University senior Kiara Fernandez said. “If there’s something he knows I really want, he will go above and beyond to get it for me. He surprises me all the time with romantic gestures, like buying me a Louis Vuitton wallet for my birthday. The romance is one of my favorite things about him. That, along with his determination and persistence.”
Their hard-working personality applies to their romantic relationships, putting in the effort to allow the partnering to run for the long haul. For a Taurus, the key to stability lies in communication. They won’t just talk to you—they’ll participate in deep and meaningful conversations with you. Bring on the romance. The date night of your dreams may very well get planned with a Taurus!
The Negatives
We can’t escape our negative qualities. Hannah Montana so kindly noted, “nobody’s perfect.” By understanding the negative aspects of our personhood and its origins, we work to become the best versions of ourselves.
Follow along for the top five worst qualities of the Taurus zodiac sign.
1. The Stubborn Mule (or in this case, the Bull)
Although the Taurus will do everything in their power to embody a team player, once they become dead set in their ways, they won’t budge. If they fail, they will dwell on that failure for what seems like forever. Sometimes, the Taurus can’t move on. They bury their feet deep into the sand, making it impossible to shift their position. When attempting to debate the Taurus, ease them in slowly. They won’t back down from an argument. In the mind of a Taurus, arguments only end one way- with them winning. Google the “stubborn Taurus meme” for many jokes explaining the intensity of their head-strong attitude. If the Taurus feels directly challenged, like the bull, they will pounce. Saddle up!
2. “Respect my Authority.” More like “Reject.”
The Taurus, aka, the team player. They understand what it means to perform the roles of leader and follower. Unfortunately, that idea goes right down the drain once someone triggers a Taurus. Their once proactive mindset gets blinded by stubbornness, possibly even rage. If pushed beyond their means, the Taurus will go from respecting authority to rejecting authority. Many of the Taurus personality’s negative qualities feed into their rejection of power, especially their stubbornness. They will go out of their way to pick a fight with the person who dares to challenge them. When in a position of authority, make sure to approach the Taurus with a calm attitude. Don’t push them too far or else… ready, set, charge!
3. Practically Perfect in Every Way
Mary Poppins said it best. Someone Google her birth chart! Perfectionism will occasionally take over a Taurus’s lifestyle. They want the world to perceive them as self-assured, well-rounded individuals. The bouts of perfectionism won’t last long in the life of a Taurus; they get exhausted with this. At the end of the day, they just want to relax. Perfectionism makes relaxation difficult to nearly impossible.
“I do consider myself a perfectionist at times,” St. John’s University sophomore Tracy Cohen said. “I don’t necessarily keep my room perfectly clean, but sometimes I get fixated on certain aspects that I need to perfect. I feel like I need to appear as a perfect person socially and physically. At times, I consider myself easygoing, but I can’t deny my perfectionist tendencies. I come from a Taurus family, but I don’t see the perfectionism in them. They’re the type of people who go with the flow.”
They indeed crave a taste for the finer things. The glamour that life offers feeds into their element of perfectionism—being perfect means looking good. While some Taurus’s contain a hint of perfectionism, those moods usually get balanced by chill moods. In other words, if they feel a stressful break coming on, they catch on quickly, so it doesn’t consume them.
Occasionally, their taste for luxury will cause another negative quality to slowly emerge.
4. SpongeBob said, “Imagination.” The Taurus says, “Procrastination.”
That’s right, procrastination. If the Taurus takes a while to begin a project, don’t doubt that they put it off for quite a bit. Even though they fully immerse themselves in their work, getting that work to start might pose some issues. Their perfectionist tendencies cause them to set very high standards for themselves. Then, the fear of not living up to those expectations amplifies procrastination.
“Growing up, I was notorious for procrastinating. It was a mixture of both personal life and projects, but I would procrastinate most with schoolwork,” St. John’s University sophomore Isabelle Rella said. “For me, the procrastination period lasted differently depending on the task. For example, it would be a ‘save it for the night before’ situation when studying. But when it came to working out or training, my procrastination would last for months. Over time, I think my determination and overall goal to feel better with myself was the reason why I stopped procrastinating so much.”
While procrastinating, the guilt lingers within the Taurus. They don’t allow themselves to ride free. Once they finally come to a decision, they dedicate themselves to getting the job done right.
5. Mine! Mine! Mine!
Calling all Taurus men. In relationships, the Taurus (especially the men) tend to enact possessive qualities towards their significant others. Be wary, that possessiveness may quickly turn into obsession. The innate desire for control reaches across all their relationships, like familial relationships, friendships, etc. They don’t hide their jealousy or any other emotions. If suspicions reach their radar, they tend to become clingy. Then, they will begin to distance themselves and will set noticeable boundaries. Always exhibit honesty with the Taurus, you don’t want them on your bad side.
