D.C.’s cherry blossoms have reached peak bloom and legislators are well on their way through this session of Congress. The incoming freshman class has already shown great prowess. Our powerful women leaders, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Nancy Pelosi and Deb Haaland, already made waves through the country. From a Green New Deal to the first Native American woman sitting in the Speaker’s Chair to a not-so-subtle applause at the State of the Union, these women are sowing the seeds for equality and success in the year to come.
