Our 50by2050 partners have events this month all over the United States to help you get motivated and involved in creating the next generation of female politicians.

MAY 2: HRC: Equality Act 101 Training
- Beverly Unitarian Universalist Church

- Learn how to discuss the Equality Act with your friends, family and your U.S. Representative. HRC will introduce how the Equality Act is necessary to advance protections for the LGBTQ community and how we get started with Action, Now.
MAY 3–5: Emerge America: Chicago National Candidate Boot Camp
- Chicago, IL
- The 2019 Emerge America National Candidate Boot Camp is an intensive three-day program to give Democratic women the training they need to run and win campaigns up and down the ballot.
MAY 4: IGNITE: Empowered Women Empower Women

- The IGNITE NY College Council will be mobilizing in NY creating a space for politically ambitious young women while providing support and connecting them to resources.
MAY 4: HRC: HRC Atlanta 32nd Annual Gala Dinner

- Volunteer and celebrate the LGBTQ community and HRC’s call to action. Be part of the movement for full gender and sexuality equality.
MAY 4: IGNITE: Leading Local: Boards & Commissions Bootcamp
- 10 a.m.—3 p.m.
- Little Village Branch, Chicago Public Library
- Chicago, IL
- Join the Chicago College Council to learn about Boards and Commissions—what they are, which ones exists within the city of Chicago and how you can apply. Get involved in your neighborhood and claim your seat at the table without having to run a campaign.
MAY 4: HRC: HRC Mississippi: Derby Day

- HRC is having its second annual Derby Day party at the Capitol Club in Jackson on May 4. There will be food and Mint Juleps, silent auction including the painting that Ellen Langford will paint live during the event, live music, TV’s for watching the race and a lot of fun.
MAY 4: IGNITE: Boards & Commissions Training

- Join a national movement of college women who are ready to claim their fair share of political power. Learn more about IGNITE and how to navigate the political arena at So Cal College Council’s Boards & Commissions training.
MAY 8: HRC: Learn to Lobby
- St. Cloud, MN
- 6–8 p.m.
- Learn how to meet with legislators and help them see the world from your point of view. With these skills, you’ll be empowered to advocate for equality in your community.
MAY 11: HRC: 14th Annual Las Vegas Dinner

- Volunteer and celebrate the LGBTQ community and HRC’s call to action. Be part of the movement for full gender and sexuality equality.
MAY 13: She Should Run: Road to Run: Austin

- Join She Should Run at its Austin stop on the Road to Run as we examine and discuss the importance of women taking their first steps toward their next leadership opportunity, political or otherwise.
May 19: Victory Fund: Houston Champagne Brunch

- Join LGBTQ Victory Fund President & CEO Mayor Annise Parker, and elected officials and leaders from the Houston area in building LGBTQ political power across the nation.
MAY 23: Emerge America: South Carolina Meet and Greet

- Join Emerge America for a meet and greet with its national network and the Emerge South Carolina network. Come to meet the women who are changing the face of politics both nationally and here in South Carolina
MAY 30: Emerge America: Emerge Now 2019: Annual Luncheon

- Join Emerge America for its annual luncheon celebrating the women who are leaders now and the women who plan to run for leadership positions. Special guests include the five Emerge alumnae newly elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
