Being bad in bed can be one of the biggest deal breakers in a relationship. If the sexual chemistry isn’t there, your relationship goes nowhere fast.
But everyone knows, sex can be tricky. It’s not always, if ever, like those hot and steamy scenes in the movies. Everything doesn’t come together seamlessly and a lot of the times mistakes are made (not being able to take the bra off, not putting the condom on correctly, accidently hitting your lover’s head with your elbow – hey, it happens).
Especially if you’ve been dating someone for a while, sex should not be a daunting thing. It should be enjoyable. Here are a couple of tips on what you should do and what you should not do to make things easier.
What makes someone good in bed:
1.) Confidence
“It’s about being comfortable,” said Ashley Armstrong from the University of California, Berkeley. Confidence is key. No one wants to get into bed with someone who is shaking with fear. Even if you’re nervous, try your best to hide it.
2.) Communication
You have to tell them what you want. If your partner is doing something wrong or if they’re doing something you absolutely love, you have to speak up and let them know. It’ll make future experiences even better. “You have to know your partner inside and out,” said Erica Sequeira from the University of California, Riverside.
3.) Spontaneity
Being stuck in the same routine can get boring. Spice things up by doing it in unexpected places or times. It’ll make it more fun than it already is.
What makes someone BAD:
1.) Being too drunk
Alcohol may ease your nerves, but slurring your words and barely being able to stand or see straight is not sexy. There is no bigger turn off than a drunken mess. If you end up throwing up as a result of drinking too much…well that pretty much speaks for itself.
2.) Being a bad kisser
You can usually tell how someone will be in bed by the way they kiss. If you’re not smooth with something as small as kissing, you may want to hold off before going all the way. Baby steps are key. Fix this tiny problem to prevent a bigger one
3.) Being self-conscious
This goes back to being confident. No one wants to hear your insecurities during sex. To be honest, the only thing your partner is thinking about is sex. Besides, confidence is sexy.
These things take time and maybe a little (or a lot) of practice-but the payoff is totally worth it.
