Competition
Don’t know how to snowboard? Learn from some of the club members through clinics and competitions. The club also hosts Roxy Ride Day (a clinic for girl riders), Tussey Open, Trans Am and PIST Rail Jam where PSU riders travel to Pittsburgh and compete against other colleges on their rail moves. Previously, the club hosted the Red Bull Buttercup in downtown State College showing off their tricks and skills on ramps and platforms.
The club has also participated in the Red Bull Bracket Reel. Fellow snowboarders and skiers of Penn State flash their moves on the mountain in a collegiate battle of the best where they compete with other students all over the country. Red Bull also sponsored a round-robin video contest where Penn State participated in the past.
Philanthropy
The Penn State Snowboarding Club does more than wax their boards in their free time. They also take part in THON to give back to the community. Attend and support the largest student-run philanthropy in the world when joining PSSC. The club provides not only financial support but emotional support throughout the year leading up to the big dance marathon in February. Every year they have fundraising events that raise awareness and money for the fight against pediatric cancer.
