What It’s Actually Like
Editorial interns work closely with HC’s editor-in-chief. Interns focus on all things editorial: writing, editing, social media and working on content partnerships with other publications.

As an editorial intern, you get to work with The Huffington Post and other nationally recognized publications, gaining valuable experience in the world of journalism. “I gained a lot of useful clips to use in the future — nearly anything you apply for will ask for non-academic samples,” said former Her Campus Boston College team member Meaghan Leahy. And she’s right; writing samples are the Kryptonite of the journalism world.
What You’ll Learn
Deadlines are super important at a publication like Her Campus. “As long as you write two or so articles a week and turn them in by deadline, you can fit it in to even the busiest of schedules,” said Leahy. You’ll learn the ins and outs of working in online journalism, including the secrets of social media and content calendar planning.
How to Prepare for Your Application
Make sure you’ve perfected your writing sample: it’s crucial to your application.
