As you all procrastinate for finals, packing and making that trip back home, let’s take a step back for a minute and appreciate those artists – and bands – that are genuinely trying to put their names out there.
These people specifically deserve to be listened to.
“People” by Skeletons: This alternative band echoes Radiohead in its unique use of electronic mixing of instruments. Beware: these harmonies are bound to give you chills if you’re listening to this while tanning.
“Memoir” by Charlotte Gainsbourg: This eerie, haunting melody will have you humming for hours on end…but don’t listen to this song if you’re in a dark alley late at night or anything. Its soft, jazz-pop feel will have you dancing in no time, just in the company of others.
“Don’t Worry” by About Group: Reminiscent of the classic rock your parents are fond of – you should be too! This mellow tune balances comfort and intrigue, prime music for studying.
“Bull in the Wild” by Eastern Conference Champions: This song is an anthem for the ages. I’m surprised it hasn’t received more attention – the chorus hasn’t left my head for days. Slightly timely for the royal wedding hoopla: “All the kings and the queens and the princes will ride.”
“BTSU” by Jai Paul: This is what it must have felt like to hear the first DJ play. Records are spinning over a high-pitched melody in this catchy, techno song.
