It all started with a text message: “I’m still here, bitches – and I know everything.” – A.
Since then, “Pretty Little Liars” has captured the attention of millions of devoted viewers and guilty pleasure victims.
The show aired the first half of its freshman season last summer and returned this January with the second half, culminating in a season finale as explosive as its season premiere.
“Pretty Little Liars” is the story of Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) and the late Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse).
Alison, the leader of the group, thrived on keeping the secrets of her friends, but dared not share those of her own.
One year after her mysterious death, the four girls begin receiving text messages from an unknown number with the signature, “A.”
“A” has led the heroines on a season-long journey to find the truth behind Alison’s murder, blind girl Jenna Cavanaugh (Tammin Sursok) and the identity of “A.”
But you didn’t think the show would actually tell you anything concrete in its finale, did you?
What we learned: Jenna was in cahoots with Spencer’s brother-in-law Ian Thomas (Ryan Merriman), Ian may have been Alison’s murderer and “A” is nowhere near finished in torturing the beloved “liars.”
It ended with a text message: “It’s not over until I say it is. Sleep tight while you still can, bitches.” – A.
Although the ABC Family drama knows its demographic of teenage girls and guilty pleasure lovers, it will definitely have to start revealing some of Alison’s secrets before they become – as some have already – too frustrated to watch.
Or is that all part of “A’s” plan? I guess we’ll have to wait – and watch – to find out. The show returns for its second season this June.
