With most college students on spring break at some point in March, it's not surprising that so many stories about partying gone wrong have ended up in the news. Here's what happened this week, spring break style.
1. Don't tell madre what happens at Padre.
Authorities had already reported more than 100 arrests by March 12 on South Padre Island, a popular spring break hotspot in Texas. More than 60,000 students were expected to arrive last weekend alone, and the Daily Mail reported that by 4 p.m. on Saturday 60 patients had already been treated at mobile hospitals on the beach. Read more about South Padre, which Coed Magazine named one of 2013's trashiest spring break destinations, here.
2. This is what spring break in Oz looks like.
James Franco… where do we begin? For those of you who don't know, Franco has taken on the unfortunate role of a cornrowed wanna-be gangster (with grillz) in the new movie "Spring Breakers." We suggest you check out the trailer for "Oz Breakers" instead, a mashup of Franco's character with his role from "Oz the Great and Powerful." In one of the best films never made, a small-time magician arrives in an enchanted land of hot chicks and is forced to decide if he will be a good man or a great one.
3. Don't splash me bro!
According to this YouTube video that has been circling around the internet this week, a massive water brawl broke out between some spring breakers. It appears as though the fight was started by splashing and that no girls were in sight. We're not sure which makes less sense.
